What is a DAR Archetype - and Which One Are You?
Nine archetypes. One is yours. Here is what the DAR Archetype system is, how it works, and how to find out which one you are right now.
Key takeaways
- ✦A DAR archetype is a snapshot of where you are right now - not a fixed label, not a box. It names what is true in this moment so you can move forward from it.
- ✦There are nine archetypes across three pillars: Dream (The Nebula, The Aurora, The Horizon), Align (The Meridian, The Equinox, The Compass), and Rewire (The Solstice, The Prism, The Catalyst).
- ✦Your archetype reveals not just who you are but where you are - and what the DAR framework specifically offers you from that position.
- ✦Unlike personality tests, the archetype system is designed to change. As you do the work, your result shifts. That is the point.
- ✦Take the quiz at dreamalignrewire.com/quiz to find your archetype and get the free reflection guide built for where you are.
You have probably taken a personality test before.
Maybe Myers-Briggs told you that you are an INFJ. Maybe the Enneagram named you a 4. Maybe Human Design confirmed something you already suspected about yourself. And maybe, for a moment, there was that recognition - yes, that is me, that is exactly it.
And then - nothing changed.
Because knowing what type you are does not tell you what to do next. It does not tell you where your specific change keeps breaking down, or what the next step looks like from exactly where you are standing.
That is what the DAR archetype system is for.
It is not a personality test. It is a positioning tool. It reveals not just who you are - but where you are. And where you are right now is the only place any real work can begin.
What is a DAR archetype?
A DAR archetype is a snapshot of how a woman is showing up right now - which gifts are leading, which blindspots are most active, and which of the three DAR pillars is her current edge.
The word "archetype" comes from the Greek for "original pattern." In psychology, Carl Jung used it to describe the deep patterns of human experience that repeat across cultures and across lives. We are using it here in a more specific, practical way: to name the pattern that is active in you in this chapter, in this season.
Your archetype is not who you always are. It is who is leading right now.
That distinction matters. Because if you have been doing personal development work for any length of time, you have probably noticed that you show up differently in different chapters. The version of you navigating a significant loss is not the same as the version building something new. The version running on empty is not the same as the version who has just found her direction.
The archetype system honours that. It is designed to move with you.
There are nine archetypes across the three DAR pillars - Dream, Align, and Rewire. Each one lives within a pillar because each one is a particular expression of that pillar's energy. Which one you are right now tells you where your natural home is, where your growth edge is, and what the DAR framework specifically offers you from this position.
The three pillars - and what they reveal
Before we get to the archetypes, a quick orientation to the three pillars, because they are the container everything else lives inside.
DREAM is the pillar of vision, possibility, and imagination. Dream work is about clarifying what you actually want - the real version, not the edited version that feels safe. Women who lead from the Dream pillar are visionaries. They see what could be before it exists. Their work is learning to ground that vision in the world.
ALIGN is the pillar of purpose, structure, and intentionality. Align work is about bringing your nervous system and your outer life into coherence with what you say you want - so that your body stops working against your goals. Women who lead from the Align pillar are builders. They create what lasts. Their work is learning to stay expansive within the structures they build.
REWIRE is the pillar of transformation, courage, and pattern-breaking. Rewire work is about doing the actual change at the level of identity and habit - not just understanding the pattern, but shifting it. Women who lead from the Rewire pillar are threshold-crossers. They know how to move through change. Their work is learning to build fully in the new territory, once they have crossed.
Most women have a natural home in one of these pillars and edges in the other two. Your archetype tells you which is which.
The nine archetypes
Here is a brief introduction to each one. One of these is you right now.
The Dream Archetypes
The Nebula - "Everything begins as possibility." The Nebula lives in the space before things become real. Ideas arrive in waves. She sees connections others miss. Her superpower is generative thinking - she makes people believe in things they had quietly set aside. Her growth edge is completion: the exciting part is the beginning, and staying through the long middle is the work she is always growing toward.
The Aurora - "She shines brightest in the dark." The Aurora emerged from difficulty. Her gift came through something she survived - a loss, a breakdown, a season that tested everything. She holds space within the darkness in a way that makes others feel less alone. Her story is her authority. Her growth edge is learning to know herself equally well in the light.
The Horizon - "Always becoming. Always ahead." The Horizon is perpetually oriented toward what is next. She scouts ahead. She can see around corners. She comes alive when there is territory to cover. Her superpower is strategic foresight. Her growth edge is presence - learning to value what she has already built, instead of always living in what comes next.
The Align Archetypes
The Meridian - "Everything is organised around what matters most." The Meridian is the through-line. Give her a purpose and she will build everything around it with precision. She delivers, always. Her superpower is turning vision into a structure that actually works. Her growth edge is flexibility - learning to evolve her structure and see that as mastery, not retreat.
The Equinox - "Everything has its place. Everything has its season." The Equinox seeks equilibrium - not as a passive state but as an active, deliberate achievement. She creates environments where others can flourish. Her superpower is sustainable success. Her growth edge is distinguishing balance from stagnation - learning that expansion done in alignment deepens her peace rather than threatening it.
The Compass - "Others find their north by finding her." The Compass is the one people turn to. She earns it through steadiness and sureness, through having done her own inner work until it shows. Her superpower is helping others find clarity in confusion. Her growth edge is remembering that she also needs a compass - investing as much in her own direction as she does in others'.
The Rewire Archetypes
The Solstice - "This is the moment everything changes." The Solstice has lived through a significant shift and that experience is her authority. She knows what it takes to cross a threshold. She is at home in the in-between. Her superpower is holding space for others at their darkest turning points. Her growth edge is declaring herself arrived - building from completion, not from transition.
The Prism - "She takes the complex and reveals its spectrum." The Prism is the interpreter. She can take a tangled, overwhelming situation and break it into components so clearly that others wonder why they struggled to see it before. Her superpower is making the invisible visible. Her growth edge is trusting that done is better than perfect - leading with one beam of light at a time.
The Catalyst - "Her presence alone changes the room." The Catalyst shows up and things shift. She ignites ideas, movements, people, possibilities. Her superpower is that her energy is contagious - she makes people believe things are possible that they had quietly set aside. Her growth edge is tending her own fire as carefully as she tends everyone else's.

Find out moreWhy knowing your archetype changes things
You might be reading through these and recognising yourself in more than one. That is normal. The archetypes are not designed to be mutually exclusive portraits - they are designed to be distinct enough that one of them is leading right now, even if others feel familiar.
The reason that matters is this: the work looks different depending on where you are standing.
A Compass doing Rewire work needs to approach that differently to a Catalyst doing the same work. A Nebula starting Dream work needs different support than a Horizon does. The archetype tells you where your natural momentum is - and where it is likely to get in your own way.
It also tells you which of the three DAR pillars is your current growth edge, which is where the real value is. Because your natural home pillar is where you are already capable. The edge is where the change actually happens.
One more thing worth saying: the archetype system is designed to change as you do the work.
If you take the quiz now and get The Solstice, and you come back six months later after genuinely doing the DAR work, you might find yourself landing somewhere different. That is not inconsistency - that is evidence that something shifted. The system moves with you because real change moves through you.
How to find your archetype
The DAR Archetype Quiz has 27 questions. It takes about ten minutes. There are no right answers - just honest ones.
When you finish, you get your archetype result with a reflection guide built specifically for where you are right now. Not generic advice. The specific questions, practices, and next steps that fit your particular combination of natural home and growth edge.

The archetype system is one of the things I am most proud of building inside the DAR framework. Not because it is clever - but because the women who have seen their result come back saying the same thing: it named something I already knew but could not quite articulate.
That is the whole point. It is not telling you something new about yourself. It is giving you the language to work with what is already true.

Frequently asked questions
- How many DAR archetypes are there?
- There are nine DAR archetypes across three pillars: Dream (The Nebula, The Aurora, The Horizon), Align (The Meridian, The Equinox, The Compass), and Rewire (The Solstice, The Prism, The Catalyst). Each archetype is a distinct expression of that pillar's energy - a different way of leading and a different set of growth edges.
- How is a DAR archetype different from a personality type like Myers-Briggs?
- Personality tests like Myers-Briggs describe relatively fixed traits - who you tend to be across situations and over time. A DAR archetype describes where you are right now in your growth journey - which gifts are leading, which blindspots are most active, and what your current edge is. Your archetype is designed to change as you do the work. A personality type is a portrait. An archetype is a map.
- What if I recognise myself in more than one archetype?
- That is normal. The archetypes are not mutually exclusive - aspects of several will feel familiar because they describe patterns most women have some relationship with. What the quiz identifies is which archetype is leading right now. If two feel equally true, you are likely at a transition point between phases, and the quiz handles this with a specific tie-breaking question.
- Can my DAR archetype change over time?
- Yes - and it is supposed to. The system is designed to move with you as you grow through the DAR work. If you take the quiz now and get The Aurora, you may find yourself landing somewhere different in six months. That is not inconsistency - it is evidence that something shifted. Come back and retake it whenever you feel the change.
- How long does the DAR Archetype Quiz take?
- The quiz has 27 questions and takes approximately ten minutes. At the end, you receive your archetype result with a free reflection guide built specifically for where you are right now - not generic advice, but the specific questions and next steps that match your particular combination of natural home and growth edge.

About the author
Lesley Christie
Lesley Christie has spent decades reading everything she could find - the modern personal development shelf first, then the New Thought writers it all grew from: James Allen, Neville Goddard, Wallace D. Wattles. She understood the methods. She still couldn't make them work consistently. For years she put it down to mindset. It wasn't. The answer was the nervous system - what Lesley now calls the Body Dreambuster: the part of you that quietly kills the dream before it can take hold, not out of malice, but out of protection. No amount of visualisation, affirmation, or positive thinking overrides a protection programme running below conscious awareness. A Certified Human Design Specialist, Certified Trauma-Informed Somatic Life Coach, and CBT Coach Practitioner, qualified in EFT, Ho'oponopono, meditation, and self-hypnosis, and currently training in NLP, Lesley built Dream.Align.Rewire around the Law of Congruence - the principle that external change is only possible when your internal system feels safe enough to hold it. Not when you believe hard enough.
